EHM Turné 0- Halmstad (preview)

10 July Halmstad (preview) Leif's Lounge

Thomas Evensson, from the The Daily Roxette, was "at the crime scene" - at Leif's Lounge in Halmstad, for Per's "sneak preview" of "En händig man på turné."
There are several hundred people there, among them Freddie Ljungberg, Martin Dahlin and Börje Salming, or should I say as Per puts it "All the guys with their own underwear label is here!" There are also some 20 South American Roxette fans here. The concert starts at 22:15, a bit fashionably late, it's Per. The whole place rocks with the opening number "Hannas kärlekspil." Per and the band plays 11 songs, and skips one. All of the songs are great, but one stands out; "Jag skulle vilja tänka en underbar tanke" which turns into exactly what I had imagined. A show stopper that keeps on going!
Thomas met Per after the concert, where he and the band were presented a triple platinum award for "En händig man." Per were very satisfied with the concert:
It felt great, everyone tells me I should do more club gigs. Actually it seems I will. I wanted to do this thing for SOAP down in Europe, but now 'En händig man' goes so well in Norway that we are planning a club tour there. We may even pop over to Finland and Denmark.

Everything seems set for the big premiere tomorrow. The set list:

1 Hannas kärlekspil
2 Det hjärta som brinner
3 En sten vid en sjö i en skog
4 En händig man
5 På promenad genom stan
6 Juni, juli, augusti
7 Jag skulle vilja tänka en underbar tanke
8 Här kommer alla känslorna
9 Födelsedag
10 Gå & fiska!

Extras

* They skipped Fru Nordin as an extra
at Leif's for reasons unknown.

Here I just want to share some photos with you.

A day off from the touring, Martin and I discovering the surroundings of Halmstad! There is a place in the middle of nowhere where they make really great italian ice cream!! I was raised eating a lot of ice cream because my father he is a real snowman who loves it himself :o)

This is what it looked like, before the Per Gessle concert in Halmstad, when Lisa made our hair and makeup. I was enjoying the company of all the kids of the band: Frida, Billy, Hugo, Ella, Agnes and Ingrid wearing her dad´s hat! Lisa would give them some lipgloss and a curl each in their hair. But I think Hugo passed on that one :o)

Martin took a picture of the “By your side” video when it was shown on the big screen as a part of the warm up videos before the show! I have very Biiiiig wrinkles :o)

Love, Helena

According to the new Favorita Myspace:

Popsicle Webshop is the website/record label behind the release of Favorita’s album in North America and it’s owned and operated by Favorita’s fan Luke Jackson who is currently recording an album of his own featuring Favorita’s Magnus on bass, Jens Jansson on drums and producer/multi-instrumentalist Christoffer Lundqvist both of whom play in the band Brainpool whose last record, the sprawling double album rock opera “Junk” was recently staged for the first time in Los Angeles.
Favorita was the band of Magnus Börjeson in the middle 90s. The only album by this band from Lund, Sweden, was released last year by Junk Musik. Magnus has worked with Christoffer Lundquist, Brainpool and Per Gessle. Metro Jets (Magnus' duo with David Birde from Brainpool) has released some singles in Sweden.

In Mazarin, Per Gessle added the dates of when each song was written and also wrote who played what on each song and then he got tired of it. So on the last record there has been nothing of that. Americans have lists of names in the songwriting credits. Sometimes I think it’s politics. All those people haven’t written the songs but they have contributed in some other ways so you credit them on a song and give them a little piece of money to even things out. I think it’s rare that so many people write a song. I think it’s often an economical, political thing.

Helena's 2007 Dynamo Tour (I): with Salem Al Fakir in a Swedish Tour

This week, Helena Josefsson and her band (Martinique Josefsson - guitar-, Christoffer Andersson - keyboards - and Emeli - backing vocals -) have been the supporting act during the Salem Al Fakir Tour in Sweden. Helena was at three gigs:
  • Chinateatern, Stockholm, 2007/04/11
  • Trädgår'n, Göteborg 2007/04/12
  • Louis De Geer, Flygeln, Norrköping 2007/04/13
Helena speaks about it in her Official website:
Support to Salem Al Fakir. At Chinateatern 1250 persons sat down and listened. It was really nervous but then the athmosphere was magic! In Göteborg 1000 persons standing up did actually listen to the music! They sang along in "Sleepyhead".
Robin Rumich and Helena's band took some good photos:

Helena's Dynamo (VII): Promo in Stockholm

Yesterday, Helena Josefsson promoted her new album in Stockholm. First, she played and signed at Nordiska Kompaniet (NK), the great old department store. Then, she had a TV promo at Bingo Royale (SVT1).

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away.
Now it looks as though they're here to stay.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Yesterday was such a lovely day. Good music and nice people all over and all my troubles just were forgotten for a while. Why can't it be like that forever? Music is one of those things that you just can live for. You don't need anything else. No love, No friends, nothing...The music is your biggest love, The music is your nearest friend. It's always there for you and it's never disappoint you. Live for the music and the music will make you live !!! PS. Buy Dynamo by Helena Josefsson and listen to Sleepyhead such a lovely song...I just bought it on that one. DS.

The DollyCamp (II): Helena at Dolly Parton Tribute

Helena Josefsson played yesterday night at Debaser Medis in Stockholm, a concert in honour of Dolly Parton. Helena speaks in her website about the invited artists:
Dolly Parton Tribute! Robyn, Titiyo, Cecilia Nordlund, Tingsek, Lotta Wenglén, Fibes Oh Fibes, Nina Persson (from The Cardigans), Martinique Josefsson and the charming band with lots of wonderful musicians!
Robin Rumich took some great pics of the Gala.

The director Jessica Nettelbladt recorded at this concert some scenes for a documentary film (defined as a "roadmovie" though) called "Den långa resan till Dollywood". Nina Persson, Helena Josefsson and other female singers from Malmö sing and talk in the film about the influence of their idol Dolly Parton. It seems a long project too, so it could be shown in 2008.

Helena's first single (VIII): Helena Josefsson with her whole band in Stockholm

Helena Josefsson played yesterday night at the Restaurant Landet, Midsommarkransen, Stockholm. She performed her solo stuff the first time with her whole band.

Sean Wiklund, from Sweden wrote: "Hi Helena! I was at "Landet" when Helena Josefsson had her releaseparty for her record. After I bought the CD, I haven't been able to stop listening, especially to "Never never (My dynamo)", that makes me so happy, and totally adore the sound and chorus in that song so much. "By your side" is also really good. The chorus in that song is also that good that it get stuck (in a good way) in my mind. I wish you the best of luck in the future. You are a shining star!"

Some German fans (Heike, Nicole and Melanie) were there and took some nice photos.

P, C & C have a party in their heads (III): Mazarinerna rest into shape in a secret gig

Gyllene Tider, nominated for four Grammis awards, received two awards two weeks ago at The Grand Hotel in Stockholm. Gyllene Tider was selected as “Pop group of the Year” and their DVD “GT 25 live! En scen vid en plats i en stad” was “Music DVD of the Year.”

Surprisingly, last night The Ark and Per Gessle and his band Mazarinerna played at fashion house Vero Moda’s secret company gig in Nacka Strand, Stockholm. About 1,200 people attended the “swell gig.”

The band Mazarinerna consisted of Christoffer Lundquist, Clarence Öfwerman, Helena Josefsson, Jens Jansson, MP Persson and Anders Herrlin, according to TDR’s sources. The setlist was “Mazarin” and Gyllene Tider material mixed. The band’s sound was super, according to Gessle. “Fun to play, my throat is hoarse today!” Per tells TDR.

This gig could me the beginning of a new work of the band. It's known that P, C & C have been recording new songs since December 2004.

The set list of the secret gig:

En sten vid en sjö i en skog
Juni, juli, augusti
Gungar
Det hjärta som brinner
(Hon vill ha) Puls
Här kommer alla känslorna
Kung av sand
Födelsedag
Ljudet av ett annat hjärta

P, C & C find GT's five errors and Brainpool's long-running soap opera (V): GT25 - Sommarturné 2004

2004.07 Gyllene Tider Tour

Le Journal des Mouches misses Mazarin but GT25 Turné has been a huge phenomenon in Sweden this summer. A post-tour advertisement appearing in several newspapers reads “Thank you all who made GT25 the biggest tour in Sweden through all time!” The ad goes on to proclaim a sold-out tour, (492,242 tickets!!) and that “Finn 5 fel!” has sold more than 210,000 copies so far, and “GT25” (Greatest Hits) more than 65,000.

According to TDR, under clear skies, a capacity crowd of some 32,000 people gathered in Stockholm’s Stadium to see Gyllene Tider’s triumphant return to the venue that was the highlight of the Återtåget tour in 1996. For some, it’s a nostalgic trip down Memory Lane. The concert set list is full of songs that take Swedish adults back in time to when they themselves were teenagers. But new teenagers also were there. It seems everyone in Sweden this summer loves Gyllene Tider.

“This is the biggest thing that ever happened in my life, after my children being born” said Göran Fritzon to Aftonbladet at Ullevi. “I don’t really know what to say. I’m speechless,” added Per Gessle. “It was really hard to keep the tears in the first couple of songs,” confessed Micke “Syd” Andersson, “my voice trembled when I sang the backing vocals.” After the show the band went to the VIP area to celebrate the record with their families and friends who had come to support the band.

When The Daily Roxette came to Örjans Vall it was pouring cats and dogs, the rain started trickling at 5 and escalated to a downpour at 7, when The Latin Kings entered the stage. TDR had a little talk with Per Gessle at 7:45 (see below). During the interview, Mats “MP” Persson allegedly got sick of the rain and told the others that he would stop it. So MP sticks his hands in the air and shouts. The rain stops immediately. When TDR comes out from the interview at 8 the rain is gone! While the setlist didn’t contain any surprises, the concert itself did. Gyllene Tider’s members became “honorary citizens” of Halmstad 2004 for being such great ambassadors for the town for so long.

After the concert Sweden’s Princess Madeleine came backstage and congratulated Gyllene Tider on a great show. Then the Golden Lads entered the semi torn down stage and had cake and champagne before the press. Anders sprayed the photographers with champagne… All in all… a great end to a great tour, by a great band.

By the way, today it is an important day. Don't forget it! Tonight it will be the premiere concert of Brainpool's rock opera, JUNK. Christoffer Lundquist, Jens Jansson and David Birde have been working on it since 2000. LJdM will review the concert very soon. Helena Josefsson, Clarence Öfwerman and Magnus Börjeson are going to take part in the concert.

P, C & C back in the AGM office (II): Clarence Öfwerman's Christmas

Age: 45 years old
Family: Wife and two children.
Last movie he has watched: ”Sköna Sussie” , it was Ok.
Last book he has readed: Sture Dahlströms ”Den superb blondinen”.
Musical influences: When I was younger I liked the synphonic rock, for example Genesis, Yes and Gentle Giant.
Roxettes best songs: ”It must have been love” and ”The look”.

According to Nacka Värmdöposten article and The Daily Roxette, the long-time producer Clarence Öfwerman, who has worked with Roxette since the very first single , has written the music for this year’s Swedish Christmas calendar TV series. TV’s Christmas calendar is an old annual tradition for children and has a different theme or story each year. This year the series’ name is “Håkan Bråkan” and it will be broadcast every day from December 1 until Christmas Eve on SVT.

Making music for TV has been a new world for Clarence. Now it’s two weeks to the premiere and Clarence has all the music ready, at least for the first 16-17 episodes.

Julkalendern” is a program which runs daily for 24 days, from first of December, and it’s about about 15 minutes long. I enjoy making music and film and TV.

In the last episode there will come an aunt from space in a sleigh. I don’t know what music there should be, but I still have a couple of weeks to make up my mind. I’ve just started to realize how many people and how much technology is involved. It was also unbelievably cool to be able to go to Berwaldhallen and play with 40 strings from the Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Mazarinerna is the band (V): Mazarin Swedish Summer Tour

The tour was fantastic, but all too short. I hope there will be a follow-up. One of the highlights was the mid-August concert in Stockholm. Over 17,000 wonderful people showed up. Playing in Stockholm has always been tough for a country boy like me, but eventually it was an excellent concert.

This is my first real tour, so everything is new and really exciting. The guys in the band has given me lots of tips on how to pack and things like that. I hope I could learn many things in this tour for the future tours of Sandy Mouche.
