Sandy Mouche's rehearsals and recordings for a new album (I): two new songs

Sandy ... (who is missing?)

We tried two new songs and they turned out great. Helena Josefsson played an awesome glue syth and sang, Ola Blomgren played a lovely space guitar, Per Blomgren drummed like a groove machine, and I played a tight bass and sang.

It was a great start and we had so much fun. We even forgot to take some photos while playing. This saturday we will have our first studio session and record the two new songs. Stay tuned for details.

HJ's 2007 Fall (III): Big bad wolf

For her baby
And her baby grows up to be
A man who can load a gun
but not a washing machine.

Helena has added the song BIG BAD WOLF to her myspace

Emma ("Billy"), from Helena's Fanclub - and probably Helena's most active Swedish fan - explains the story behind this song:
Do you know how Big bad wolf was born? Well, I only know the short version. Helena was on her way down to the washing machine (therefrom the word in the chorus), when she saw a girl that was pregnant. Uhm ... Then you can imagine Helena's own fantasy took place.
Big bad wolf is the beautiful story of a pregnant woman. It might be a mother who can´t stay with one man, a mother who dares but to make a cotton world, a mother who can´t make warm apple pie ... or a mother who didn´t stay so long alive. But we have never saw another love like that: like the mother who loves her baby. Perhaps the future is unknown: the baby could become a man who can load a gun but not a washing machine; or maybe a woman who works for a stinky pay as long as they say that's she is pretty. Her baby could have got only one big eye, a six-toed little right foot, not much common sense, big ears as a space ship ... But her baby will be a star to the mother because she won't mind. Because she has a baby just below her heart. Her baby. The song ends with a French lullaby: Baby, beware of the wolf!

Fais attention au loup
partout où tu vas
Son pelage est si doux
mais ses dents si coupantes
Fais attention mon enfant
dans la forêt si obscure,
si grande

Big Bad Wolf includes some French lyrics that have echoes of Little Red Riding Hood ("Le petit chaperon rouge").

By the way, according to Kamila's myspace Helena Josefsson is thinking about her second solo album. Helena has said:
I am writing a lot of music this fall, so I can record after Christmas. It feels good!!Have a great day! Helena

Sandy Mouche's new ideas (III): SM's dinner has begun!

We have great news today. According to Martinique Josefsson, in SM Official News, the band has begun the process. We will have a new Sandy Mouche's album in 2008, with Helena, Martinique, Per and Ola.

It has begun! This evening we sat down and made plans for the upcoming album. In two weeks we will start rehearsing and then we will hit the studio. Two songs at a time. You will be able to follow the process here on the Official site.

The album will be fast-floating, clean, angry, sad, happy, soft, and some ballads hopefully. But I dont really know, the songs will have it their way I suppose.

HJ's 2007 Fall (II): Popkomm Berlin

One of the top three concerts of my life so far, the one in Berlin!
Helena Josefsson (Sandy Mouche)

Some fans (Nicole and Heike from Germany; Billy from Sweden) were in Café Zapata, Berlin, yesterday night.

Nicole has written these words in the Official forum:

Hi everybody!

Heike and I are back from Berlin! And what can I say? It was great! Even it was a veeeery long evening!

Here´s what happened yesterday evening:
First the band "Division of Laura Lee" was on stage. They were really nice, like all the bands, that were there! After a break "The Sunshine" came on stage and started playing. A few minutes later I turned around to see what´s behind me and saw Helena standing behind me. Shocked As you can imagine it was a little shock in a positive way. I haven´t expected her in that moment. Very Happy She recognized us and gave us a hug. Cuddle I presented her our present. We gave her the banner, we made for the EHM-Tour, which we had signed before, a photo-cd with all the photos I have made during the EHM-Tour and 2 marzipan-pigs. She loved it! We couldn´t talk to her that moment, because it was too loud. So she went outside the café, but we didn´t follow her.

We didn´t see the other bands, because it was too loud and very hot there. The café had a lounge, where we sat down and waited for Helena´s gig.

Helena´s show was great! During the show Helena looked on us and said "Thank you for the pigs!". Of course, she meant the marzipan-pigs. That was really funny, because no one else from the audience could know, what she was talking about! Laughing When she sang Sleepyhead, almost the whole audience sang "Can you feel the sunlight" on and on. Helena has really catched the people with her voice. At least as long as she hold her microphone on my mouth and shouted "Nicole, sing!". That was cool, even if I can´t sing at all! But it was good enough for some seconds!

After the performance we went outside. 40 minutes later we wanted to go home in the hotel. Then we saw Helena and the whole band in front of Café Zapata, how they were drinking and talking. So, we went to them to talk a bit and say goodbye. She thanked us for the present again and introduced us her band. We said hello to them. I told her, that some members of this forum really would like to be in Berlin too, but are not able to. So, I asked her, if she wants to write a message to them. And of course she did want to!

You can find it here: Message from Helena to all forum members!

Martin made some pictures of us with his mobile, when we were talking to Helena. And finally we made some photos together with her!

You can look at all my photos here: Photos of Helena at Café Zapata in Berlin

I hope you like the short story and pictures!

I just arrived from Popkomm, the music messe/festival in Berlin! What a cool city! The "messe" took place in Messe Berlin, a huge building with great big halls full of people working in the musicbusiness in one way or another. I met a lot of interesting people and had a few meetings with Mourice Plusquin and Bruce Smith by my side. I handed out CD's with my songs to companies who showed interested in what I do.

I spent my evenings at Café Zapata on Oranienburger Strasse. A very cool little bar/club. On Thursday there was a Swedish night and I saw Helena Josefsson and Soundtrack of our lives perform. Helena is awesome! Really like her voice! The keyboardplayer turned out to be be MY future keyboardplayer, Christoffer Andersson!! What a coincidence! He did a great job by the way! Berlin, I'll be back! For sure!

I've taken this wonderful pics, which I think are the best pics I've ever made. You have to have a look. Helena is soo cute there."

Four other Swedish acts will perform this evening such as Soundtrack of Our Lives, Böss and more!

ROCK ME! come on let´s deconstruct that ABBA complex
The days of ABBA fame are well and truly over, but when it comes to indie rock, Sweden is still right at the top. If you need convincing, Division of Laura Lee and The Sunshine will be happy to oblige. BÖSS vs. Gods of Blitz represent a German-Swedish collaboration. And Helena Josefsson delights with indie-pop tunes. Headliners The Soundtrack of Our Lives (photo) have conquered the hearts and ears of their fans with a 60s-infused rock sound.
